How is Cannabicitran (CBT Isolate) produced?
- Cannabis Plant Extraction: This traditional method involves extracting CBT (far less than 1% concentration of hemp biomass) from the cannabis plant. The extraction process typically uses a supercritical CO2 extraction process or solvents like ethanol or butane to separate CBT from other plant materials, followed by purification steps like chromatography to isolate CBT in its purest form. However, there is so little CBT found natively in any strain of hemp that the extraction process for such a small yield makes it cost-prohibitive for most product developments and not scalable for the pace of the industry.
